Evaluation of college magazine.
Before I even started making a college magazine at first out class did a survey around the college asking students if they would want a college magazine and what would they like in it. Surprisingly the majority of people we asked said that they would not like a college magazine which had to make me think why? And what could I put in a college magazine to make people want to read it?
First of all when I was making my college magazine cover I would have need to think about whom the audience will be and this would obviously be the college student. So when I was making the front cover I would have had to think about thinks which would attract teenagers ages 16-19. So for the front cover I made the colour scheme yellow and orange to show liveliness and fun and put in a picture of two young college students to get the attention of the college and for them to recognise that this is specifically for them and no one else. I also put the main topics which would be talked about in the magazine and also the topics which would be most appealing to college students such as jobs, sports and parties this was to catch their attention and would make them want to read the magazine to find out what is happening later this week or month. To get a lot of these Ideas I went out and had a look at some college magazines which were already made and got some ideas about which ones worked and which didn’t and found out what to put on my front cover to make it more appealing.
When I made my contents page for the college magazine I made it in the same colour scheme as the front cover to make it look professional and well presented. This colour scheme is very effective as it stands out and would attract the target audience as they are bright eye catching colours. The pictures used in the contents page are all pictures of college students to show which type of people this magazine is aimed at and what it’s about. The contents on the page is there to tell the reader what main things are going to be in the college magazine and I put the things what look the most appealing to the students on the front cover to make them want to read on and find out what the magazine is all about.
