My initial ideas for my music magazine.
My music magazine is going to based around the rap and r and b genres of music which means I am mainly aiming my magazine at teenagers aged 14-25 which means I will need to think about many things in my magazine such as the photos I will use, where I will take them, the articles I will use and mainly the language I will use, I know that most rap music is listened to by boys who are quite thuggish based in lower life society which will also leave the question of what price I will make the magazine will it be cheap to get more people to buy it or fairly pricey to make more money as I know the people who listen to r n b will be willing to pay the money as r n b is aimed at middle class society I know this from the songs and the price of the cds which are normally fairly pricey (£12).
Photos: For the front cover I am looking to get a shot of a group of boys who can relate to the audience of the magazine and to attract more readers or to get a picture of a good looking girl to get the attention of the male readers but also to be a good role model for the girls who read the magazine. The setting will be mainly up behind a white wall or bright scenery such as a beach to represent the r n b side of the magazine.
When making my magazine I will need to think about what I am putting in the magazine such as offers, and events as I know that most people who read this magazine will like to go out and party so I will put out big events which are happening around the country such as the V festival. I will put offers in such as money off clothes and free drinks at party to get people to buy the magazine and will be more of a bargain for people who like to go out and don’t have a lot of money. To get these offers it means I will need sponsors and to let them advertise in my magazine and I will be looking to for advertisement which can relate to the readers such as aftershave, alcohol and clothing brands.
Front cover: for my front cover I am looking for 1 main photo to catch the eye of the readers along with text telling them about main parts in the magazine such as competitions, bands events and featured articles.
Feature article: for this I did an interview with T.i as he is a well-known artist to people who will read this magazine and made it the same colour schemes I also will put in pool quotes, subheadings titles and pictures to make it look like a real 2 page spread.
Contents page: for my contents page I used 3 colours the same as the rest of the magazine (black white and grey) and put information which would be in a real magazine.
